The Modern Art of Tarot

With a history dating back several centuries, tarot is a spiritual tool that now faces the reality of our modern times. Reflecting on Audre Lorde’s question “Can the master’s tools dismantle the master’s house?” this panel discussion grapples with the history of tarot, considers a more inclusive present, and imagines a future of healing and transformation. A visual presentation of the evolution or tarot artwork will introduce the discussion and its themes. Tarot practitioners Danielle Meijer, Alia Walston, Grace Deveney, and Casey Rocheteau will share their unique tarot-based practices and discuss how the art of tarot can be used as a tool for community building and radical change.
