About this Event
Join the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) and DePaul University College of Law for an exclusive screening for university students of the HBO documentary, The Undocumented Lawyer.
Lizbeth Mateo is an attorney who swore to uphold the Constitution. She’s also undocumented. When a client takes sanctuary in a church, Lizbeth’s own experience guides their fight for justice.
You’re invited to a free virtual screening of the 20-minute film between April 8 and April 14 (you pick when you’d like to watch). Then, join the live panel discussion with experts from NIJC and DePaul University College of Law on April 12 from 12 – 1 p.m. CT. We’ll discuss immigration law, the power of individuals with DACA status in our communities, and our continued fight for justice.
Immigrants’ rights and human rights have been under attack and university students are critical actors to ensure security, dignity, and access to justice in our communities. That’s why we’re inviting you and other university students to watch this important film and join the discussion with legal experts and advocates.
