Field Museum | Trolleys depart from Lincoln Park Student Center

On Thursday, November 10, DePaul students, faculty, and staff are invited to join in to experience the Native Truths Exhibit at the Field Museum. Complimentary admission to the Field Museum and Native Truths Exhibit is provided for the first 30 DePaul students, faculty, and staff and includes trolley rides that depart from the Lincoln Park Student Center. This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Institutional Diversity & Equity and the Office of Student Involvement in recognition of National Native American Heritage Month.. . . . The Field Museum is open until 5pm. Trolleys will depart from the Lincoln Park Student Center at 12, 1, 2, 3, and 4 and will return from the Field Museum at 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30. . . . . INFORMATION ABOUT THE NATIVE TRUTHS EXHIBIT:. . Hear from Native American and Indigenous people as they tell their own stories—through words, music, dance, and art.. . . . Understand the historical significance of items in the Field’s collection, like traditional regalia and pottery. Immerse yourself in works by contemporary Native artists, including Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) raised beadwork from Karen Ann Hoffman of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and flute music from Frank Waln of the Sicangu Lakota.. . . . In Native Truths: Our Voices, Our Stories, we invite you to connect with diverse Native stories and the individuals who share them. Dive deeply into current issues, like threats to Native land and the rights of tribal nations to govern themselves. Celebrate the thriving, modern cultures of today’s Native communities.. . . .
