Using Quantitative Reasoning to Better Understand the COVID-19 Epidemic
Wednesday, May 26, 2021 4pm to 4:45pm
About this Event
The Quantitative Reasoning Center in the College of Science and Health administers the course LSP 120, Quantitative Reasoning, which is a Liberal Studies course requirement for many undergraduates at DePaul. The purpose of the course is to help DePaul students to become more confident, more critical, and more capable users of quantitative reasoning of all kinds. Using fundamental skills taught in LSP 120 can help us better understand the COVID-19 epidemic, inform public policy, and model possible future outcomes. We will demonstrate some very simple mathematical models for epidemics that shed some light on COVID-19.
