Virtual Screening of "The Dark Hobby"

The DePaul University Library and College of Law Rinn Law Library invites you to join us for a free asynchronous virtual screening of "The Dark Hobby" via Vimeo's Virtual Showcase 12/18-12/20.

"The Dark Hobby" focuses on the Hawaiian Islands, home to many ornamental fish species, with several now on the verge of extinction. This area is the point of capture of millions of them for the aquarium pipeline. Native Hawaiians, conservationists, scientists, aquarium fish collectors and breeders engage in political battle over these fish, regarded as the “treasure of Hawaii.” The Dark Hobby website, which includes a trailer, offers additional details about these issues with their global implications: https://thedarkhobby.com/.

This virtual screening event is free and open to the DePaul community and general public. Those who want to watch the film must pre-register at Eventbrite. Registrants will receive a link and password to access the screening beginning at midnight on Friday 12/18 for a 72 hour period.
