Volunteer for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 15th with the Pro Bono and Community Service Initiative

All College of Law community members (students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends of the COL) are invited to join the Pro Bono & Community Service Initiative (PBCSI) and our student partners for our first Donate-A-Day of 2024 with Stone Temple Missionary Baptist Church, and the GROWSS committee of the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council’s Soup for the Soul program on Monday, January 15th in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Soup for the Soul is a mutual aid program launched in late 2020 to help Lawndale families experiencing food insecurity.
Family members and friends are invited to join as well! There is no age requirement for volunteers.
College of Law Volunteers can participate in a full or partial day of service activities:
9:00am-10:00am: Part 1: Help with breakfast for the community and Soup for the Soup Clients and other activities (gardening, cleaning, organizing donations)
10:30am-11:30am: Commemoration of Dr. King Jr. (all volunteers are encouraged to attend)
11:30am-1:00pm: Volunteers will help with various activities (gardening, cleaning, organizing donations)
1:00pm-3:00pm: Part 2: Soup for the Soul preparation and distribution.
All Activities Will Take Place at Stone Temple Baptist Church: 3622 W Douglas Blvd, Chicago, IL 60623
Lunch of Soup and Sandwiches will be provided.
Volunteers: Please Register HERE by Sunday, January 14th at Noon.
We ask that you bring a mask and be dressed for outside work.
