Gathered in My Name: Ecumenism and the World Church

WORLD CATHOLICISM WEEK 2017
April 28-30

~ For the most up-to-date information, and to register, visit http://worldcathweek.depaul.edu ~

Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg & sparked the Reformation. Our conference commemorates that event, focusing on the lingering repercussions of the Reformation in the global South today & attempts by Christians there to work across religious divides.

Speakers from Nigeria, India, Brazil, Chile, Europe & the U.S. will address topics such as official ecumenical dialogues & grassroots cooperation among Protestants and Catholics; competition among ecclesial communities; what Pope Francis has called the “ecumenism of blood” in which Christians of all kinds face persecution together; and reflections on the way forward for future ecumenical efforts.
