DePaul’s National Association of Hispanic Journalists, DePaul University Association of Black Journalists and 14 East Magazine in collaboration with WTTW will host a community engagement event Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Lincoln Park. The event will have  panelists from DePaul and community members discuss societal barriers impacting formerly incarcerated people, the negative stigma they face, and misinformation about their rights as citizens. Panelists include Legal Aid Chicago Attorney Regina Hernandez, DePaul  Political Science Professor Christina Rivers, North Park University Assistant Director of the Writing Center Antonio Pizarro, North Park Theological Seminary student and professor's assistant Marcos Gray, and DePaul Students Against Incarceration president Grace Siegelman. The event will include a question & answer session, and light refreshments will be provided.
