Your Rich BFF Vivian Tu is coming to DePaul! On Thursday, January 25 at 6:30pm, join us for Dinner and Discussion as Vivian Tu, the NEW undisputed voice of finance, shares her personal finance tips, give the next generation a first look at her book: "Rich AF: The Winning Money Mindset That Will Change Your Life," and highlight how Marshalls can support a rich wardrobe, rich life, and rich budget. The hour-long dinner and discussion will be informative, educational, and interactive! . . . . Vivian's Bio: When the burnout came for former JP Morgan trader Vivian Tu, she decided to leave Wall Street for a gig in the media space. But when she did, she took with her a financial savvy that would lead her down an unexpected path: building a career out of offering fun, digestible financial advice on social media. She was always the one her friends would go to for this sort of help ("Can you rebalance my 401K?"), and after they'd encouraged her to start posting her musings online - and Tu began going viral - she realized how great the need was for financial literacy beyond the big banks. Financial services has historically been "male, pale and stale... these lessons are things that rich dads have been teaching their rich sons on the golf course," Tu told Forbes. Her 3.5 million followers, whom she lovingly calls "the leftovers," include women, people of color and marginalized communities that haven't gotten this same education - and that's where @YourRichBFF comes in. Tu's goal is "to make finance into fun-ance" and speak to those seeking financial advice "like we are two besties on a couch." She has landed partnerships with MetLife, Rent the Runway, Credit Karma, Invesco and Wealthfront and is now being represented by WME. Her first book, "Rich AF: The Winning Money Mindset That Will Change Your Life," is slated to be published by Portfolio in 2024. She was ranked No. 50 on the inaugural Forbes Top Creators List in 2022.
